I was recently lucky to have my sister Amanda come out to Colorado for a weekend visit.  When discussing how to spend her time, I was borderline shocked when she said she wanted to go fishing.  No one in my immediate family has ever shown any interest in fishing and I was pretty surprised that Amanda was the first.  I was excited to share my life and passion with a family member so they could see that I am not as crazy as they thought for letting trout influence all of my life’s decisions.  I knew that I needed to fulfill all expectations and then some, which I did not think would be easy with some weather moving in and my sister expressing a need to catch “a big fish”.   Although Amanda has shown some softness as a result of living down in Florida, she still had some of that Ohio born toughness and was more than willing to learn with the help of my ski jacket and hat.
I think she did pretty well.  Not only did she get her first fish ever, she got the facebook photo that she was longing for.  I’m not sure who had more fun.  I know my sister loved her first fishing experience and I genuinely enjoyed showing her.  O, I almost forget, Cooper also tagged along and got this little guppy.
